Pet Butler was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1988 and began franchising in 2005. The company grew rapidly through 2009, getting national publicity but struggled with instituting the needed infrastructure to sustain the growth. The company was sold in 2010 to HomeTask, a multi-brand franchisor and stayed relatively stagnant in growth through 2015.
Spring Green Enterprises (SGE), parent company to Spring Green, a national franchisor of lawn, pest, and tree care, negotiates rights to purchase the system but opens one dog franchise location to service the Plainfield and Naperville, IL areas.
SGE operates a mobile business and acquires a local dog franchise competitor to help drive growth.
The Pet Butler franchise system is acquired by SGE and relocates the national support center to Plainfield, IL. And forms a leadership group of owners to help prioritize the needs of the system.
Hosts its 1st National Training Conference (under new ownership) in Plainfield, IL. And revamps their consumer website.
Expanded call center from seven employees to 14 employees, call center went full-time supporting our Pet Butler franchisees.
Pet Butler begins testing new services into the franchise system with pet care and dog shuttle options.
Exceeds $12.6 mil in revenue servicing +14K weekly customers. Plainfield company-owned franchise location exceeds $2 mil in revenue.
