For Yohann and Maria Connell, launching a Pet Butler franchise was more than a business decision. It was a shared dream decades in the making. Yohann, a software developer with nearly 30 years of experience, and Maria, a special education professional fluent in American Sign Language and Braille, had long imagined starting a pet-related business together. In 2024, they made that dream a reality by taking ownership of the Pet Butler franchise serving the greater Seattle area.
Their complementary skill sets have laid the foundation for success. Yohann brings technical expertise and a keen eye for systems and organization, while Maria’s warmth, patience, and people skills make her a natural at customer engagement. As a semi-absentee owner, Yohann continues his tech career while supporting Maria in leading day-to-day operations and long-term strategy. With four children and a strong commitment to family values, the Connells are building a business that reflects their priorities: community connection, excellent service, and a deep love for animals.
Pet Butler offers the flexibility they needed to grow a business on their own terms. With ambitious goals to double their customer base, expand their fleet, and eventually add services like grooming and daycare, the Connells are all in. They look forward to growing their presence in Seattle by partnering with local rescues, engaging with the pet community, and providing reliable care to pets and their people.
Backed by Pet Butler’s national support system, marketing resources, and operational tools, Steven is building a business that not only brings financial freedom but also connects him more deeply to his community, one wagging tail at a time.
